I had the pleasure or working with Paycom's AAPI Employee Resource group for their Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month event. As an Asian American myself, it was very important to me to have extensive conversations with the ERG leaders. According to them, they wanted to show the abundance of cultures that are within "AAPI", and how it's not just an East Asian aesthetic.
I also joined in their ERG chat and interviewed its members in person:
"What do you like about this ERG?" "Although you come from different countries, what's something that connects all of you members together?" "What's your experience as an Asian American?"

From those questions, I garnered such life and energy from all of the members. Most answers I got had the overall message of "No matter where you came from, we're in this together now". It was that feeling of colorful unity that I wanted to capture in all the assets.
My solution was to create a collage-like design to mesh together various landscapes, cuisines, and of course, the members themselves. I made sure not to stick with one region, but to make all countries be together in one cohesive piece.
